Having focus is like being at the helm of our mind, to guide us to get what we want.
So, it is safe to say that you get what you focus on.
If you focus on the negative, your internal dialogue goes like:
- “I don’t know what I want”,
- “I don’t want that, I don’t want the other”,
- “I can’t do It”,
- “I’m not good enough”,
- “I’m too stupid to learn”,
- “it’s too late for me now”.
You spin around in this circle of negativity and since you are spinning around with no way out, you lose your heart and the courage to take action.
What you get is frustration, lack of confidence, anxiety and perhaps anger with yourself for being stuck.
As you are at the helm of your mind, you can veer your mind to the positive, to what you want.
When you do that, your internal dialogue goes
- “I want this”,
- “I can get it”,
- “I want to get it” and
- “I will get it!”.
And because you are in this positive mindset, you have the heart and the courage to see it through, even if there are challenges along the way.
What you get is Joy, Satisfaction, Pride of your achievement.
And when you do so, you should be in awe of yourself.
Now, if you are stuck in that circle of negativity, if your focus is on the negative and you can’t get out, then let’s have a chat.
